San Diego water use down 9.5 percent in October

Water use was down 9.5 percent citywide in October, compared to the same month last year, San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders announced Wednesday.
Overall, San Diego residents have cut their water use by about 13 percent since the city imposed mandatory restrictions in June, according to the mayor’s office.

Driver trapped in water after crashing off bridge

A four-car crash in Sorrento Valley sent a vehicle careening 200 feet off Interstate 5 and into some water, leaving the driver trapped for nearly two hours, authorities said.
The crash on southbound I-5 just south of Interstate 805 was reported at 4:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
