Explosives testing scheduled at Pendleton
CAMP PENDLETON — Live-fire training at Camp Pendleton is scheduled from 6 a.m. to midnight today.
The live-fire training will continue during the same hours Monday,Wednesday and Thursday, according to the base’s public affairs office.
Each day, about 1,750 pounds of high explosives will be detonated, and the explosions may be heard across the region.
Pendleton fire 500 acres, structures safe
A brush fire in an artillery impact area in Camp Pendleton grew to 500 acres today but is not threatening structures, a Cal Fire dispatcher said.
