SDSU brush fire investigated as arson
A brush fire that burned about three acres of a canyon near San Diego State University was being investigated Sunday as arson.

UPDATE: No injuries, structure damage in North County fires
Brush fires broke out Saturday on Palomar Mountain and at Camp Pendleton, but no structures were damaged and no one was injured, a fire spokesperson said.
The fire on Palomar Mountain in Love Valley was reported at 2:15 p.m., said Cal Fire spokesperson Roxanne Provaznik.
The 2-acre fire threatened nearby structures but none were damaged, she said.

Juvenile arrested for connection with two brush fires
A juvenile was detained Saturday in connection with two small brush fires that appeared to have been intentionally set, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The fires scorched about a half-acre of brush around 11 a.m. in a vacant lot near Valencia Street and Bancroft Drive, Sgt. E.J. Dayrit said.
