Two injured in house fire near Bonita
Friday, March 12, 2010
Firefighters battled a house fire that sent two people to the hospital Friday morning.
The fire at 3185 Lynndale Place was reported at 3:31 a.m., said a San Diego fire-rescue dispatcher. Crews were still putting out small fires in the rubble as of 6:30 a.m.
Five people were displaced, including two who paramedics took to UCSD Medical Center suffering from smoke inhalation and minor burns.
The house is the main building on a compound that includes several smaller homes where 17 people live.
Firefighters had difficulty finding the house in the unincorporated area near Chula Vista. Once they arrived, there were no fire hydrants in the area. They had to pump water from a tanker down a hill a quarter mile away.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
