A shooting in a City Heights alley left one person wounded Tuesday afternoon.
The gunfire in the 4300 block of 49th Street was reported shortly after 1:30 p.m., according to San Diego police. Officers and medics arrived in the area to find a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his jaw, SDPD Detective Gary Hassen said.
The severity of the injury was not immediately clear.
Authorities locked down three nearby campuses — Euclid, Fay and Ibarra elementary schools — while police searched for the assailant and gathered evidence, Hassen said.
