Tijuana man caught with marijuana
A Tijuana man was arrested Wednesday when U.S. customs officers found 20 packages of marijuana inside two rolled-up garden hoses in the back of a pickup truck during a border stop.
The 35-year-old man, a U.S. citizen, had a load of landscaping tools in the truck around 4 a.m. when he went to the Otay Mesa Port of Entry, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The agency estimated that $51,000 worth of the drug was found after a dog alerted on the pickup while it was in line to enter the United States, and was directed into a secondary inspection area.
