Oceanside man faces murder in stabbing incident
An Oceanside resident accused of killing a Vista man at the defendant’s apartment complex last summer must stand trial on a murder charge, a judge ruled today.
Kade Kundrat, 29, is accused of stabbing 23-year-old David Allen Jacobson, whose body was discovered about 2:30 a.m. July 13 on a walkway behind the front building of the Seaview Apartments in the 100 block of South Pacific Street.
Police said he died of a neck wound. At Kundrat’s arraignment, prosecutor Katherine Flaherty said Jacobson got into an argument with two of the defendant’s roommates and Kundrat threw Jacobson out of the apartment.
Kundrat called Jacobson back to the residence and was waiting for the victim when he arrived, the prosecutor alleged. Judge Joan Weber ruled there was enough evidence for Kundrat to stand trial Jan. 12 for Jacobson’s murder.
A readiness conference was scheduled for Dec. 21. Kundrat faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
