Aguanga man arrested after chase through Hemet and Sage
Adan Ochoa Orozco was taken into custody after the pursuit was ended with the use of the spike strips, which disabled the vehicle Ochoa was driving.
A 29-year-old Aguanga man was arrested after leading deputies on a pursuit through portions of Hemet and the unincorporated community of Sage, said Cpl. Will Edwards in a news release.
Adan Ochoa Orozco was taken into custody after the pursuit was ended with the use of the spike strips, which disabled the vehicle Ochoa was driving, Edwards said.
About 11:15 p.m. Thursday, members of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Hemet Station’s Problem Oriented Policing Team were in the area of State Street and Stetson Avenue when they observed a vehicle driving erratically, Edwards said.
Believing the driver was under the influence of alcohol, deputies attempted to stop the vehicle when the suspect accelerated at a high rate of speed, Edwards said. A pursuit started and Orozco led deputies through the Hemet and Sage area to the south. Deputies from the Hemet Station were able to deploy spike strips and disable the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody.
Orozco was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and felony evading of officers. He was taken to the Larry Smith Correctional Facility. He is on probation for driving on a suspended license, Edwards said.
