Driver missing after fatal collision
Sunday, November 8, 2009
San Diego police sought the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal collision in Colina del Sol Sunday.
A woman was driving with three passengers in a 1997 Plymouth headed west on El Cajon Boulevard about 2:05 a.m., when she turned left in front of a truck headed east and the truck crashed into the side of the car, said San Diego police Officer David Stafford.
Two of the Plymouth’s passengers were taken to hospitals with serious injuries, and one died at the scene, near 54th Street, Stafford said. The driver, described only as a Hispanic woman in her 20s or 30s, ran off, according to Stafford.
The truck driver, who was alone, suffered minor injuries.
No information on the age or gender of the fatally injured passenger was immediately available.
