Temecula celebrates its history
"Residents can expect a variety of different vendors and performers all related to the history of the city of Temecula."
Temecula’s Heritage Day gets underway from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Sam Hicks Monument Park, 41970 Moreno Road in Temecula.
The event, held in conjunction with the popular Erle Stanley Gardner celebrations and Temecula Writers Conference, promises to be fun and educational for locals.
“For a city that has grown as fast as Temecula it is important to have a connection with the past,” said Martin Betz, Temecula’s cultural arts administrator.
“Residents can expect a variety of different vendors and performers all related to the history of the city of Temecula. For instance, Ramona and Alessandro will be there with the Ramona Players. Folks can see a blacksmith, gold miners, and gunslingers-all in one afternoon,” Betz said.
Guests can also look forward to numerous exhibits by local organizations including, Valley of the Mist Quilters, Pechanga, the Temecula Valley Historical Society and more.
