It didn’t take long for Chris Chambers to find a home.
A day after the Chargers cut the wide receiver, the rival Kansas City Chiefs announced that they successfully claimed the former San Diego starter off waivers.
Demoted on Sunday for the younger, more athletic Malcom Floyd, Chambers has struggled this season, tallying nine catches for 122 yards and a touchdown through seven games.
Needs on the defensive side of the ball led the Chargers to cut Chambers on Monday.
They signed linebacker James Holt from the practice squad on Tuesday with the open roster spot.
Holt will bolster a linebacker unit hit hard lately with injuries to starter Kevin Burnett and Tim Dobbins.
The Chiefs and Chargers are scheduled to play at Qualcomm Stadium on Nov. 29.
