San Diego River brush fire extinguished
San Diego firefighters Sunday put out a brush fire in the bed of the San Diego River, a dispatcher said.
The fire near Friars Road and Pacific Highway was reported about 12:40 a.m. and extinguished about 1:30 a.m., said a San Diego Fire Department dispatcher.
There were no reports of injuries and no structures were threatened, he said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, he said.
