Dead man found hanging from a tree at Hilleary Park
The remains of a 27-year-old man was found hanging from a tree Saturday in Hilleary Park by a Poway City public works employee, according to the coroner’s office.
A Medical Examiner’s Office investigator said they will await autopsy results before calling the death a suicide, but a San Diego County sheriff’s official said the homicide unit was not investigating the man’s death.
An autopsy has not been scheduled and the man’s name was withheld pending notification of his family.
The public works employee found the partially decomposed body hanging by the neck from a tree while clearing brush in a secluded area of Hilleary Park on Community Road, according to the coroner.

Dead guy in tree was in the brush you couldn’t see him from the road. I don’t think it was a suicide because people hang out back there and drink and party. We hear noises but cant see anything infact we hear noises alot. The thing thats so weird is that we smelled something bad but we thought it was the neighbors dog.And we had tons of flys. It’s sad that someone dies and no one wants to investigate. Even sadder that he stayed there so long and no one knew.

I coach at Hillery,
I remember smelling something really bad. I thought it was dog poop in the trash cans.
That body was there for at least 2 months.
According to sources it was partially skeleton.
How odd!!
