The NFL granted a 24-hour extension on a television blackout for Sunday’s Chargers game against the Raiders.
The team needs to sell approximately 1,000 more tickets by Friday at 1:05 p.m. PDT, or the game will not be shown on San Diego airwaves.
The game is scheduled for kickoff at 1:05 p.m. PDT on Sunday and will be shown on KFMB Channel 8 if the blackout is lifted.
Tickets are available now at the Chargers’ ticket office at Gate C at Qualcomm Stadium, at www.Chargers.com and through TicketMaster at 800-745-3000.

I don’t blame the NFL for needing to black out the game … They really do need the money … After all, they only have some of the most expensive seats in sports, the most expensive licensing agreements for product sales, and the most profitable media licensing for broadcast agreements in the world … We just gotta suck it up and help ‘em out …

I hope they black the game out so San Diego can come to its senses and understand it is being held hostage my some greedy old men.
What if the Stadium (that we the taxpayers paid for) had 1000 fewer seats? A friggin sell out! TV! Hallelujah!
And why the hell is SDNN promoting the sale of tickets above?
Does ANYONE understand how much TV AD revenue would be lost for the Spanos Clan if the game is not televised..?
Wake up San Diego…..I want to see the game tomorrow on my TV, but would not mind taking this one off to make a point to the NFL and The Spanos’s.

This is absolutely ridiculous, support your team San Diego! We are so proud of this great city yet we can’t support the Chargers enough to sell out against are biggest rival? Unfortunately we already have a reputation of being a laid back (to the point of flakiness) city. This just feeds the stereotype. We need to start realizing what a humongous deal it is to have a pro football team. All this crap about not buying tickets to prove a point is stupid. Wake up, if we don’t buy tickets are team could be playing in the new stadium that’s gonna be built up in LA. The City of Industry Chargers!? BLAH. If we lose are football team we are gonna look like a third rate city that doesn’t deserve professional sports. So have a little self respect and civic pride San Diego!
