Friday night found me at Stingaree for some dancing and to meet Audrina Patridge. The Hills star and “Maxim” cover model rolled in with a party of eight for dinner in Sting’s restaurant (no, she didn’t order Carl’s Jr.) before walking the red carpet and then heading up to the penthouse party. What struck me most was how friendly and down to earth she was. That, and how fierce her four-inch black leather booties were! She bubbled about being back in San Diego and how much she loved the city as she posed on the step & repeat in a black silk shorts romper.
Secretly, I was hoping for some dramz, like Justin Bobby showing up to whisk Audrina away on the back of his motorcycle, but alas, she was 100% drama free. I’d also expected that a few of the Lakers would show up after their pre-season game at the Sports Arena, perhaps including Khloe Kardashian and hubby/Laker Lamar Odom, but no such luck. I know the team was staying at the Ivy, so my guess is they decided to party on the roof there.
Saturday night found me over at Side Bar for a surprise performance by Digital Underground. “Digital who?” you may ask. Two words: Humpty Dance. Ahhh, now you know! No joke, the entire bar was doing the Humpty Hump like it was 1990. Shock G is still rockin’ the rubber nose and glasses; this time a tiger striped nose paired with a ridiculous orange suit you needed sunglasses to look at. And then, to further the ’90s feel, suddenly, Side Bar managing partner Mikey G was directly above me, crowd surfing. I’m still giggling thinking about the scene!
