Chargers re-sign Hughes, waive Castille

In a flip-flop move, the San Diego Chargers re-signed cornerback Dante Hughes and waived cornerback Simeon Castille on Tuesday.

The move comes three days after the Chargers cut Hughes, whom they had previously signed on Oct. 20, in favor of Castille. Castille played on special teams during the Chargers 37-7 win over Kansas City on Sunday.

A former All-American at Cal, Hughes played 24 games as a reserve for the Colts before being cut at the end of training camp this season.

The Chargers also added La Costa Canyon High graduate  Joe Toledo at offensive tackle to the practice squad after placing center Ryan McDonald on the injured list.

San Diego hosts the AFC West rival Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
