Old Globe hires acclaimed Shakespeare expert Adrian Noble

So long, Darko Tresnjak. Hello, Adrian Noble.

Noble, the celebrated English director who headed England’s highly esteemed Royal Shakespeare Company from 1990-2003, has been appointed artistic director of The Old Globe’s 2010 Shakespeare Festival.

He’s quite a catch. And he’ll show what he can do next year, during the company’s 75th anniversary season.

Tresnjak, the Globe’s boldly imaginative resident artistic director, will leave in September after six seasons here. He’s going to pursue other directing projects.
