Jason,

Your ignorance about politics and Sarah Palin is so blatant.

Stick to the sports where you belong.

The real Sarah Palin is nothing like the MSM caricature. You need to spend more time studying and getting the facts before you make an a*s of yourself.

Be true to what you do, dude.

Well, let's call it like it is. The United States has allowed over 50 million babies to be aborted. Do you know mother's that have had children aborted have marked that day, year after year--wondering what that child would be like. Feeling the shame and guilt that they took a life. I just counseled a mother that wanted to go back and change her decision but she knew it was too late. Men are now coming out feeling the guilt, the wonderment of who their son or daughter would be. Mariana, you have no idea from where you speak. Every life, every person has rights--even the unborn!

Live&LetLive, I hope you or a family member/friend of yours never finds yourself being raped and impregnated as a result, although I guarantee that then you'll be whistling to a different tune. And, really, you think crackheads and 13-year-olds should be able to overpopulate the world with children who wind up in abusive homes or orphanages? Sounds fantastic.

Well, well, well, all the scared little boys (and the whiny, self-important divas)are coming out of the woodwork because they're so afraid that big, bad, Sarah has the power to ban abortions and they won't have that easy fix to their irresponsible mistakes. Grow up!!! Admit it - your perfect candidate is Bacchus.

What struck me as odd and somewhat unprofessional about Owens' piece is not so much about the content, although one has to wonder why so much venom toward someone who hasn't affected him personally, but that he felt he had to respond to a headline written by a coworker because he didn't agree with it and thought we needed to know his reasoning. It's the same feeling I get when I'm in a store and I have two employees near me bad mouthing another employee, a supervisor, their work hours or a supervisor disciplining an employee in front of me. I ask them to take it to the back office because it's unprofessional; I feel awkward hearing it and it's not good for business or morale. Owens could have voiced his disagreement over the printing of his co-worker's opinion with SDNN management or with his colleague over a cup of coffee, e-mail, twitter or whatever other means instead of his employer's storefront", if you will. Of course, if you can hit two professional females with one stone...that certainly makes Palin's point about the male "journalists" in the MSM - elite or fishwrap.

Good job, Jason! I think Palin is "armed and dangerous" in more ways than one. Since you wrote your article, several things have become more clear:
1. She's no longer a regular little guy now that we know she'll be paid $7 million for a book ... sure hope she has a ghost writer and a good editor on that one! Can you imagine trying to diagam even one of her sentences? I had a major headache while trying to follow the thread of her 'withdrawal as governor' speech! (About that speech: I got the biggest kick out of seeing her in her red suit pausing for applause - thought there were tons of people there - and then the camera panned the audience: a couple of guys/kids in shorts and tees looking like they were ready for the hot dogs to come off the grill!)
2. She has announced that she has every intention of being available to jet around our great land helping others just like her get elected/reelected ... if she has any takers on that.
3. And we can all sleep better at night knowing that she is on a vigil to make sure that our rights are protected all across this great land of ours ... point guard or attack dog or whatever metaphor she's using right now (I'm sure 'maverick' is in there somewhere).

She's one of the reasons that I have reregistered as an Independent; have sworn off Fox News forever; and could not even begin to consider voting for John McCain.

Keep up the good work - as several others have said, maybe you should move over from the sports desk to the op/ed page!

I don't think it matters one iota what you write but there are far better and urgent subjects that I daresay you won't touch. And if this Loren N is the the same that does the weather, stick with that where youv'e always done well. I don't see you writing about the way our President and this Congress are as financially irresponsible as the past few generations who spent themselves into this current mess. If you dig a hole you have difficulty climbing out of, you don't keep digging. To pass, and then enact bills that absolutely no one has read is so totally irresponsible that it should lead to unintended negative results. I would ask that everyone who puts us further in the hole: Really where is all the money coming from to pay for all these fun and games. The rich can't pay it all, the middle class can't pay it all, and the poor can't pay at all. MAYBE YOU CAN EXPLAIN THAT IN YOUR NEXT STERLING ATTEMPT AT POLITICAL DISCOURSE!!!!
