CHP makes 77 holiday DUI arrests in SD
The California Highway Patrol recorded no fatalities on freeways and roads it patrols in San Diego County during the Fourth of July holiday weekend, while 77 motorists were arrested on suspicion of DUI.
CHP officers arrested 1,033 suspected drunken drivers across the state, compared to 971 DUI arrests over the same period last year, according to the CHP. Statewide, at least 12 people have died in wrecks over the holiday, the same number as last year.
