One correction that has to be made often when reporters write about LEED, buildings go through a 'certification' process post-construction. LEED silver is the easiest designation to achieve, with subsequent levels at gold and platinum. Practitioners-- architects and engineers, can individually become accredited by taking additional education and passing a series of tests. I don't believe a firm can become LEED certified, although project experience utilizing LEED principles is highly desireable to the Navy and other government entities.
