Traffic was blocked for about an hour Tuesday morning on state Route 163 after five vehicles, including a school bus, crashed near Mesa College, but the highway is now cleared, authorities said.
One motorist was injured in the accident, which occurred on the northbound side of the highway at Mesa College Drive shortly before 8 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two highway lanes and the Mesa College Drive offramp from the 163 were closed for about an hour, the CHP reported. A SigAlert was lifted at 9:01 a.m. One of the five vehicles involved in the crash reportedly flipped onto its side.
Paramedics took one motorist to Sharp Memorial Hospital, according to a San Diego fire-rescue dispatcher. The victim’s condition is unknown.
