What: Sixty to seventy thousand people are expected to show up for Balboa Park’s 20th annual Earth Fair where 200 exhibitors will represent everything from organic gardening to alternative energy options. In addition there will be a children’s activity area, three stages for entertainment, a children’s parade at 10:30 a.m. and a vegetarian food pavilion. An exhibition on clean cars and environmentally sustainable home technologies will also be on display. Those who wander around Balboa Park might stumble upon a free concert at the organ pavilion or massive dread-head drumming circles at the World Beat Center. What: Walk the talk in the second annual Earth Day Walk where participants ditch their cars for a fuel-free commute to Balboa Park’s Earth Day Festival. The walk started in 2007 when two Encinitas residents decided to commute the 27 miles on foot. The walk starts Saturday at midnight and should take roughly nine hours. Do not forget the Ocean Beach Global Rock Festival with beach clean-up.

This carbon neutral festival will take place Saturday, April 18 at the foot of Newport Ave and Abbott St.
This event is a fundraiser for the Ocean Beach Mainstreet Association and will support local initiatives that will improve people’s quality of life in the community.
It is an all age’s event that will include a 21+ beer garden.
